Edith Heyck

Artwork inspired by inner feelings and emotions is called Expressionism. This method of creating art focuses on revealing passion and creativity, which has been the focus of my career as a professional artist. Viewing an abstract painting is like listening to music...it evokes a response of the imagination, not the intellect. More specifically, my painting method can be compared to

playing jazz... it’s about improvisation and spontaneity.

Edith developed her free spirited approach to painting as an outlet from the precision required in her profession as a graphic designer.  She is founder and former director of the Abstract Artists Group of New England.

Edith teaches “PAINTING BOLD & FREE”  at the Newburyport Art Association and in her Amesbury studio.
